Goodmorning everyone! I hope you all had an awesome Saturday! I nicely got to sleep in this morning. I slept all the way to 8AM :0! This is basically a world record for me haha. In a typical week I will wake up at 4:30AM Monday, Wendesday, and Friday with a 6AM wake up call hitting me on Tuesday and Thursday. So as you can see, sleeping till 8AM feels like noon LOL. Regardless, I am the first one awake in my household right now and it is extremely calm and peaceful right now. I’m honestly loving it. My body feels like it has been beaten down after this long week of school, work, and workouts. I love waking up on Sundays and experiencing this feeling, it just shows me that I did it right this week
I broke my fast with a nice little chocolate protein shake before I sat down on the computer to compose this post. I can’t wait to start fixing up real food as soon as my family awakes. But the point of this email is more of an update post. Update on where I am at and whats going on in the near future. SO without further ado, lets address some of the topics on tap.
I believe I am in week 6 of the “transformation challenge” within my gym. It has been a solid 6 weeks to date. All my major lifts have been increasing which I am pumped about. I can finally do a handstand pushup. The muscle up and double under need work still but we will get there
Also my calves seem to be growing finally! Alert the media on that one haha. So I am happy with all this. My cardiovascular is still strong as well in thanks to my UT Bootcamp and sporadic cardio sessions here and there. This is my first cut when I have continued to push heavy weight. Prior to this cut, I normally would have upped weight and volume. This go round I have been sticking with 5/3/1 which revolves around heavy weights but also incorporating some volume and I definitely feel that it has paid dividends. I can feel my skin tighting up and I am still sitting at roughly 180 depending on the time and day. I took a progress shot yesterday.

As of right now, my first obstacle course race is the Tough Mudder and that is on June 1st. That makes it 104 days away. My next race and newest event added to the schedule is the Warrior Dash on June 29th. That makes it 132 days away. Then in terms of the Spartan Trifecta, we have the Sprint on August 10th (173 Days away), Super on September 7th (201 Days away) and finally the Beast on September 21st (215 Days away). I can’t wait for these events. I especially can’t wait till they start getting closer and I start feeling the added pressure of the races and turning up the heat in my training. It’s going to be good.
One more thing to add. As you guys may or may not know, I had been taking Top Secret Nutrition’s Cardio Igniter prior to all my UT Bootcamp sessions and loving it! Well now, the awesome people at TSN have given me the opportunity to try their newest product BCAA HYPERBLEND!

I am extremely excited on starting this product tomorrow prior to my UT class. This product looks extremely promising with 30 servings in a tub first off which is nice. For the price, that’s less then a dollar a serving. Within the profile you’ve obviously have the power-packed Branch Chained Amino Acids which are one of the most studied and proven beneficial weight-training supplements. You are also supplied with 150MG of Caffeine which will especially aid me at 5AM when I’m trying to get pumped for my UT class. The profile also offers ursolic acid which in studies has shown to boost fat loss while building muscle which who doesn’t want that? And finally they include their trademark ingredient “Astravar” which aids in the absorption of all the active ingredients into the blood stream quicker. All this and only 5 calories! How can you beat that!? I have watermelon flavor and I am super excited to try thing so I will keep you all posted on how this product goes!
Time for some food, water, and recovery. Have an awesome remainder of the weekend guys and go KICK BUTT!

Let me know what your calves secret is! LOL Awesome news!
Haha calves calves calves. I’ve basically just been hitting them with super heavy weight one day and bodyweight the next day. I’ve been hitting them with one set: toes facing eachother. One set toes straight. And one set toes out. Maybe it is just mental but I feel like they are getting bigger haha
So you are basically working them every day now? Seems like that’s about what you have to do! I’ve been doing a similar approach to you but “only” 2 or 3 days a week.
Yeah i read an article on calves that included abs and it read that abs and calves are so use to constant tension and work that they need to be legit bashed in order to grow. They need to be like so overloaded to really spark the growth. I just started doing this but I’m feeling with both the abs and calves everyday
I like to keep abs to once per week because I feel I work them so hard with other big lifts like deads and squats and stuff. Though I have way better success with abs than calves so I suppose it would make sense to work harder on calves!
